thank you!

I just want to take a moment to express my gratitude.

A huge shoutout to one of my subscribers, Mr. Michael Knudsen.

He left a wonderful comment on one of my videos, and it truly made my day.

As someone who has recently started my YouTube journey, receiving encouraging feedback like this means the world to me.

So, Michael—thank you!

Now, let’s talk about progress.

In my last newsletter, I mentioned Mr. Beast’s famous advice: “You start gaining traction after posting 100 videos.”

I’m only on day 13 of my 30-day YouTube challenge, but I’m already seeing some exciting results.

A few of my YouTube Shorts have crossed 400 views, which is a huge win for a brand-new channel!

Key Takeaways from My Analytics

Diving into my YouTube analytics has been eye-opening. Here’s what I’ve learned so far:

  • 43% of my viewers come from YouTube Shorts.
  • Bright thumbnails attract more viewers.
  • The average retention time is 30 seconds.
  • Hooks with controversial or contradictory opinions get higher click rates.
  • Animation, effects, and transitions keep people watching.

My Game Plan Moving Forward

Based on these insights, here’s how I’m adjusting my strategy:

  • I’ll focus more on YouTube Shorts instead of long-form videos since that’s what’s getting traction.
  • I’ll put extra effort into the first frame, hook, and thumbnail to grab attention instantly.
  • I’ll experiment with stronger hooks and high-retention storytelling to keep viewers engaged longer.

This challenge has already been a massive learning experience, and I’m excited to see what the next 17 days bring!

Thanks a lot for being a part of this journey.

Until next time,

Ann.

P.S. It took me 3 days to create the effects, music, and lyrics for this 1 minute video.

My face

It’s been a week since my last newsletter. The reason? My health took a hit, and I needed time to rest and recover. Here’s what I’ve been up to: I’m on Day 23 of my 30-day YouTube challenge! 100 subscribers 5K+ views 23.1 watch hours What I’ve Learned: Shorts bring in new viewers. Trending music boosts exposure. Hooks with questions or relatable problems attract more people. Niche hashtags matter. Not bad for just three weeks, right? But more than the numbers, it’s been a massive learning...

Today marks Day 12 of my YouTube journey. I saw a Mr. Beast video recently, and his words hit hard: "Your first video won't get views. Your first 10 won’t either. So stop overthinking and just start. You think your videos are good, but they suck. The sooner you learn how to make great videos, the sooner you’ll get views." That’s the reality. I’ve uploaded 12 videos so far, but I know nothing big will happen until I post my 100th. Until then, I’m focused on learning. Here are some key lessons...

Lately, more and more creators are expanding to YouTube. If you’re thinking about starting a channel, here are a few things I’ve learned firsthand. I’m currently on Day 8 of my 30-day YouTube challenge. Here are four things to keep in mind before you dive in: 1. Stick to One Niche I post visual poetry on YouTube. For a week, I focused on love poems. Then I thought, "Maybe my audience wants something different?" So, I switched things up and wrote about a different topic. Big mistake. That...
